 PROUD

I am Proud to be standing here,
or I should that be the Royal we?
Because I know, without you all,
my world would be, a sadder place to be.

It's because of your tireless commitment,
even when the Ressots use their uncaring hand,
but let's forgive them, for they are backwards,
and these are words, only true pickers understand.

So, I would just like to say THANK YOU, yes,
you really do make this...young man... PROUD,
and I did want you to know that you're truly valued,
and yes, I really wanted to say it, out, nice and loud.

But while I dwell here in the Thank You Department,
I'd better go on,  I really do have a quite long list,
so, unusually, I will apologize beforehand,
just in case, there's anyone that I've missed.

You see, PROUD things don't just happen,
yes, we really do have a quite a team,
because we have the one objective in common,
yes, a litter free island, that's the dream...

So, thank you, Val, you really are a treasure,
unlike those raffle prizes you buy for every draw,
and I know managing those emails is not easy,
so thank you Val, that's what these words are for.

But wait! Hang on! Thank you Mike.
I know those maps just don't appear,
and there is much route discussion, yes,
FP4 and low tide is one I hold dear.

And then there's Pip, doing the numbers,
even though she's now in some distant clime,
but still, thanks Pip for being so valuable,
and thanks, despite all, for making Proud time.

We've also got Peter, Tony and Helen, new
recruits to the committee, feeling their way,
but I think they will all make a difference,
and that one line still leaves a lot to say...

No groaning please....because we have magic fairies,
yes, the dates on the signs just magically appear,
so, Ray and Lesley, it is not unnoticed, thank you,
your contribution is significant, one I hold dear.

Because along with Sally, you've been Proud hosts,
I am of course talking about the not-to-be-missed BBQ,
and then we should also thank ALL at the Victory,
thank YOU, we really do appreciate everyone of you.

But I think I will finish where I started,
by thanking you all, you magnifcent crowd,
for without you, we'd be nothing, certainly,
certainly, we wouldn't all be this PROUD.
